Thanks, guys another great programme. (no 175) Loved it all. One bit of useful information if I may. You mentioned Sabine McCalla. She is sister to Leyla McCalla. They are US musicians of Haitian origin. Leyla McCalla toured the UK with the recent Transatlantic Session including playing Bath Forum earlier this year. Leyla McCalla is a multi instrumentalist including both Banjo & cello. She had broken her banjo earlier on the tour so played a song live on her cello instead. Clawhammer cello is something to behold, a truely amazing sound, but sadly not recorded as far as I know. You could play anything by Leyla McCalla. May I suggest either her latest single “Vine We” or the track “A day for the hunter” from the album of the same name. Thanks.
Thanks Keith, great stuff – we’ll look her up. That Cello sounds fantastic.
